Der beauftragte Lieferant wird die IT-technische Software-Entwicklung für die ORCA App verantworten. Das ORCA-Projekt deckt auf Swissgrid-Seite zusätzlich die Datenschnittstellen und funktionalen Entwicklungen in anderen bestehenden und neu entwickelten IT-Systemen in Swissgrid ab, indem es diese Entwicklungen entweder vorantreibt oder mit Entwicklungen anderer Swissgrid-Projekte koordiniert. Ziel ist es, diese IT-Systeme zu einer integrierten ORCA-Plattform weiterzuentwickeln, die bis 2030 eine harmonisierte User Experience (UX) für die Geschäftsprozesse aller Nutzergruppen bietet. Darüber hinaus ist Wartung, Support und Weiterentwicklung bis 2039 vorgesehen.
